Nearly everyone in America watches the Super Bowl, even those who do not love Sports. It’s one of the biggest events of the year! Have you ever dreamed of heading to the big game yourself? Well, you’ll be surprised just how much the Super Bowl will cost you…
Tickets And Travel
Of course, the highest cost of attending the Super Bowl will always remain the tickets. It’s the one cost you simply can’t skimp on! There’s a bit of good news: Super Bowl tickets have a broad price range. Unfortunately, however, they’re all expensive. All in all, they vary from a pricey $4,200 to a whopping $60,000 a ticket. As always, if you’re thinking about picking up tickets, beware of those reselling tickets. At best, they’ll charge far more than the venue; at worst, the tickets could be fake.
Once you have Super Bowl tickets, you’ll need to get to the venue, which happens to be Tampa, Florida, in 2021. While travel costs are always hard to predict, expect to spend at least $500 round trip flying to the destination. As thousands will fly to the city at the same time, airlines will raise prices to meet the demand. So expect high flight prices! Hey, you could always take a Greyhound Bus if you want to save a little!
Staying And Dining
Those traveling to Tampa this year, or to any Super Bowl, will need a place to stay. If you have friends in the area, hit them up, as hotel prices skyrocket in cities on Super Bowl week. And we’re even talking about motels! At last year’s Super Bowl, in Miami, 2-star hotels that usually went for around $100 a night regularly sold for $300 a night and over. Meanwhile, almost all 4-star hotels charged four-digit sums for each night. While Airbnb might have slightly lower prices, still expect to shell out at least $1,000 in total for the weekend stay.
And, just as hotels will raise their rates, so too will many restaurants and bars. So, tack on another $100 a day for food, unless you’re alright with scarfing down McDonald’s for every meal. Of course, if staying with friends or in an Airbnb, a grocery run could potentially save you hundreds.
Entertainment
Of course, heading to the game is only half the Super Bowl experience. In the days proceeding the big game, the host city fills with parties and fun experiences! Last year, events like a Lil Wayne concert and parades, booked Miami to the point to which city officials released a daily schedule! All said, most attendees say to expect to spend at least $75 a day on entertainment.
So, what does the total cost of attending the Super Bowl come to? Well, at the low-end, expect to shell out at least $6,200 for a solo Super Bowl experience in the nosebleeds. However, if you want a blowout big game weekend, you’re looking at a bill of over $70,000! And that’s if you’re going alone. Suffice to say, most of us will have to watch from home next year!
