Remember the Planters’ Nutmobile from its commercials in the 80s? Well, if you have ever wanted to spend some time in the giant peanut, Planters has created a camper van that’s perfect for you!
Planters’ Contest
That’s right, the Planters manufacturer is gifting one lucky fan a chance to go camping in the iconic Nutmobile! A 26-foot RV-style vehicle styled like a huge peanut will be available for the chosen winner for just two nights. “Take glamping to the next nuttiest level. For the first time ever, my iconic NUTMOBILE™ vehicle is transforming into INN a NUTshell lakeside retreat, the ultimate nut lover’s weekend getaway!” the company wrote on Instagram. Although it wasn’t originally made for a weekend camping trip, the van was completely rebuilt for the occasion. “Although a bathroom would maybe come in handy for those longer drive days, we do not have a toilet or bed back there, and we sleep in hotels every night,” staff members wrote back in 2015. Now, however, the Nutmobile has all the amenities for the guests. Currently, the vehicle includes a big bed, couches, a dining table, and even a flat-screen TV!
Meanwhile, its also as safe as can be! “Our peanut is packing a truck chassis underneath its lightly salted fiberglass shell,” the team commented. “The framework is also made with custom RV parts. Taking a bite out of the NUTmobile is strongly discouraged.”
Live In A Nutmobile
The stay is suitable for anyone interested in active leisure. Guests are encouraged to partake in kayaking and hiking. In addition to that, they will receive a $1,500 travel stipend, some Planters food like Cheez Balls, as well as merchandise. Nutmobile visitors can rock a Planters robe and Mr. Peanut eye mask while in the RV! How would one get a unique chance like that? Well, Planters had launched a special webpage on September 17, where participants had to book the Nutmobile. The first lucky person to log in and book the van would get the opportunity for $3.59 – that’s the price of the Planters peanuts jar. Unfortunately, the winner can’t choose the vacation days. Pre-chosen days are scheduled for October 1 to October 3.
What’s the location? When thinking of where to let the fans spend their free time, the executives had a few places in mind. In the end, they stopped on the company home – Minnesota. Hormel Foods is based there. In June, the company acquired the Planters brand. Parked along the waterfront in Duluth, the peanut vehicle is waiting for the happy winner from the website. They will be able to seek peace and nature in a beautiful spot full of greenery, or just stay inside the van and watch movies on a big TV screen. “As the Planters brand makes Minnesota home, we want our fans to experience the state like never before with this unique stay,” said Rafik Lawendy, head of marketing for the Planters brand, in a statement.
Nutmobile is also available for nationwide bookings – the staff members called Peanutters are traveling with Mr. Peanut to any locations possible. Visit the Nutmobile official website to book a visit.
