Even if you’re not a hip-hop fan, you likely know Cardi B. After all, she’s remained one of the biggest names in the rap scene for a while now. Like many rappers, Cardi B’s Instagram is filled with pictures of her on planes, wearing high-end fashion, and generally spending money. So, many have become curious about her spending habits. And she’s in no rush to hide her receipts from anyone…
Revealing The Sum
When most people think of celebrity spending, they think of professional stylists and makeup artists, investing in real estate, buying cars and gold. However, there are a lot of costs fans don’t know about. First, Cardi mentioned that looking good is part of her job. In the video that the rapper posted on Instagram, she talked about looking good for fans and followers, having to constantly maintain her image.
Of course, that’s just the beginning. Cardi B also has a large family to support. And can you blame her? Most of us would try and help out our loved ones if we became rich and famous. Still, it’s not an easy, or cheap, task. Furthermore, as Cardi B said, supporting her family is “not tax-deductible because the IRS don’t consider that ‘a business.’”
Then, there are the bills. Celebrities also have to pay bills, just like us ordinary folk. And the iconic rapper has never shied away from talking about her expenses. “Like me, for example? My bills is, like, I’ll say about $300,000 – $250,000 every single month. And I try to put it cheaper, and it’s just, it’s not,” Cardi B revealed.
Cardi B Talks About Taxes, Too
Of course, all those expenses come out of Cardi B’s paycheck, post-taxes. And, once again, the rapper made her view on taxes clear. “First of all, do you know that artists, celebrities… the IRS out of every check that you make, they automatically take 45 percent of your check?” And that goes for all her celebrity friends. So, the rapper has to work extra hard to cover all her luxurious expenses.
The 21st-century icon also got angry over the fact that she never knows where this tax money goes. “When you donate to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates of what they’re doing with your donation. I want to know what you’re doing with my tax money. Because I’m from New York, and the streets are always dirty. There’s still rats on the damn trains,” she explained in an Instagram video that she later deleted from her account. Understandably, Cardi B wants to see what her money is spent on in the country.
“Haters Gonna Hate”
Still, while Cardi B certainly has more expenses than your average individual, she also earns far more. However, she doesn’t think that she should be criticized for her spending choices, even if some find them necessary. “I hate when celebrities do something very extravagant, buy something very luxurious, and there’s people in the comments like ‘Oh, you could have donated that’ or ‘We going backwards. You could have done this and that with your money.’ It’s like, who are you to tell people what to do with their hardworking *ss money?” she asked.
Well, that’s certainly an argument! We can guarantee at least, that Cardi B will continue to live her crazy lifestyle, judging by her new Bentley and designer outfits.
